The Farewell Symphony

This research explores life’s teleology through the dual categories of Space and Time, validated by the body’s displacement.

Centered on the Jewish cemetery in Reggio Emilia—a “heterotopia” of the absent—the project investigates the subject’s fate after the biological cycle ends.

Realized as a site-specific sound installation, it juxtaposes field recordings of modern urban noise with the sacred stillness of the necropolis.
This “vibrational presence” acts as a liminal bridge, transmuted from somatic presence into an acoustic layer.
It occupies the void left by the departed, making the invisible tension between the living city and forgotten memory audible.

The project was implemented in the form of sound installation.
