Invasion of Interpretations

Throughout various historical eras, the remains of the Roman fortifications in Regensburg have served not only as a defense for the city but also as a profound testament to its rich past.

This project posits that a physical barrier, in any form, fundamentally influences the development of social values affecting the humanitarian, economic, and political structures of any geopolitical space, as well as the conscious and subconscious sense of security at the individual level.

Consequently, our civilization accumulates its own heritage, significance, and meaningfulness through these structures.

Architectural heritage, as an integral part of the urban ensemble, represents a monolith of knowledge—an experience that transcends ages and carries the profound depth of human existence.

Through this interactive installation, I aim to construct bridges between the accumulated experience of this physical site and its contemporary inhabitants.

The material selected for the project features a mirror effect, which reveals the non-linear structure of human memory.

It transmits messages through subjective reflection, representing the “reverse side” of the historical imagery and objectivity that accompany human development.

This intervention facilitates a dialogue within the public sphere regarding the essence of identification and the critical analysis of personal emotional experience.
