Dragged Threads
The events that unfolded against the backdrop of the armed conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan have elevated the tensions between these countries to a completely new level within the international geopolitical arena.
In turn, the social upheavals triggered by the military conflict inevitably had a profound impact on all segments of society in both Armenia and Azerbaijan. The revelation of old traumatic memories has forced a new perspective on the local context of these regions.
It should be noted that despite all the differences between the opposing sides, there is one crucial commonality. In this, as in all other wars that have occurred, are occurring, or will occur in the future, the most vulnerable element in this construct of barbarity is the mothers of the fallen soldiers.
These women are united by grief and pain over the loss of their husbands and sons. They did not choose their fate; the political regimes behind these processes did so for them. Through the performance “Dragged Threads”, I set myself the task of demonstrating the existing situation and, most importantly, proposing a possible scenario for reconciliation.
