TR@MD

This project is the author’s internal reflection on the ongoing events in the Republic of Moldova. The subject explores the complex relations between the official authorities based in Chisinau and the unrecognized state of Transnistria, with its capital in Tiraspol.

Because of these factors, an absurd situation has arisen: within a single, internationally recognized independent state, there exists a geopolitical formation with all the internal and external attributes of an independent country (its own currency, state language, army, borders, government, and president everything essential for a functioning state).

This culmination of human absurdity has pushed the region toward social collisions, manifesting as an opposition between the younger generation and the representatives of monopolistic power. These events aim to structure the civil society’s perspective on the models of human relations within their homeland.

The project PR@MD was realized as a large scale photo installation.

Each of the presented images ranges in size from 1.30m by 2.00m to 1.30m by 5.40m.

A fundamental condition for the project is its display on red walls.

The images were arranged in two parallel lines: one strip features photos taken in Tiraspol, and the other in Chisinau.

This symbolized the parallel territorial realities existing within the same shared space.
