Chapter: Shelter of Responsibility. Erste Hilfe bei Unfällen project (First aid in case of accidents)Memories of the Future, or Beyond the Shadows of Empires
Since 2015, my life in Germany has been a phenomenon shaped by centuries of historical interaction within this geopolitical space.
As a bearer of a different cultural code, I find German identity inherently contradictory, often clinging to values that seem ripe for deconstruction.
While Germany mirrors traditional models of statehood, it is distinguished by technological breakthroughs that have pulled it into the whirlpool of post-capitalist value systems.
The complexity lies in whether this societal model can address global challenges: maintaining balance in an unstable world and fostering an elite capable of integrating national and global experiences.
My solo project, Chapter: Shelter of Responsibility. Erste Hilfe bei Unfällen project (First aid in case of accidents) analyzes these tensions. Using artifacts found in Bonn and Marburg, I document the “unstable platform” of the present to help delineate the historical boundaries of our uncertain tomorrow.
The project was implemented as an interdisciplinary installation, incorporating video documentation of a public space intervention, painting, sound, and deconstructed 3D objects derived from historical archival materials.
