This first-person documentary explores the tension between Soviet ideological unity and the subsequent disintegration of the USSR, which fractured communications across former republics.
This systemic collapse deeply impacted social relations, a reality I navigated personally.
While studying in Norway, I met an Armenian exchange student, leading me to the ruins of Gyumri.
There, I married and had my first son, gaining an intense, transformative life experience.
However, due to the geopolitical and social barriers of the post-Soviet era, our parents were unable to attend the wedding and have never met in person.
The film serves as a conceptual bridge, an attempt to introduce our families from a distance and share our lives in a new country one that remains a political opponent of the state that no longer exists.
