One of 430,000 Atmospheres
The painting project “One of 430,000 Atmospheres” investigates the frontier of contemporary space exploration, specifically focusing on the 2023–2026 epoch. This period has yielded groundbreaking discoveries through the deep-space scanning capabilities of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), Euclid, and the Parker Solar Probe.
These expansive studies have culminated in a catalog of over 430,000 galaxies, identified through the synergy of artificial intelligence and precise spectroscopic measurements of cosmic velocities.
In this project, I attempted to break away from the generally accepted understanding of how our planet is structured, with its gravity, atmospheric, and various physical or chemical phenomena. I also attempted to imagine how these elements might exist on other planets, under completely different conditions of formation and subsequent interaction between their elements.
Executed as large-scale oil paintings on canvas, the works utilize a rigorous multi-layer technique, with some individual pieces requiring over a year of sustained labor to complete.
From 2023 till the present day…
